The weeding begins

After a spur of the moment decision to buy the allotment at the weekend we got the go ahead last night. This morning I spent around 2.5 hours up there making a start on the weeds.

This is how it looked before I started..

After a back breaking couple of hours digging up the weeds and leeks I can see a little progress.

It's going to be a long job, but we'll get there.

welcome

Welcome to our new blog.

We've just acquired an allotment in the village where we live and can't wait to get stuck in. Currently it's mostly covered in weeds, nettles and dandelions, however there are a few leeks that are ready to be picked. We're now just waiting for the nod to be able to get down there and start weeding and sowing.

Please join us on our journey where we'll be sharing our ups and downs of allotment owning. Hopefully we'll soon get to the point where we have some fruit and vegetables to show for our hard work, and will be sharing recipes on here and my other blog, The Crazy Kitchen.

Any allotment tips and advice very welcome!
